Position: Programme & Development Advisor x 2, Benefits: Pension, HSA, Free Lunch, Free Parking Location: Gilwell, Chingford, London Salary: 21,306 (including outer London weighting) Close Date: 5pm on Monday 1st March 2010 ROLE: The role of a Programme and Development Adviser encompasses a wide range of different work areas and provides opportunities to work across the organisation on projects to support our client’s volunteer membership. Examples include the production of resources, development of national policies and the provision of direct support to their membership. The role requires excellent communication skills, an ability to work with staff and volunteer teams and to provide support, advice and information to the wider Movement. You will also have the opportunity to represent Scouting and work with external organisations. There are two vacancies in the Programme and Development Directorate: a) Youth Programme – Working as part of a staff and volunteer team, the successful applicant will work to implement, develop and support The Scout Association’s programme for 6-25 year olds across the UK. b) Activities – The opportunity to primarily work to support the adventurous activities dimension of Scouting, ranging from furthering their developmental work with Non-Governing Bodies to supporting adult Leaders delivering quality programmes in the United Kingdom. IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidates would have some knowledge of Scouting and/or wider youth/volunteer work, good communication skills, the ability to manage their own workload, enjoy working in a team, and possess good presentation and communication skills.
